Before DMac Golfs was a blog, it was a camera bag. Most of my golf content work isn’t in front of the lens, it’s behind it, shooting and editing for other creators in the golf space. One recent project: a “Between 2 Bags” episode for Bogey2Putt, where host Aron sat down with legendary club designer Clay Long, the man behind the MacGregor Response putter Jack Nicklaus used to win the 1986 Masters.
The Project
We traveled to Carlsbad, California, to sit down with Clay Long, who shared never-before-heard stories about designing one of the most iconic putters in golf history and what it was like working with Jack Nicklaus at the height of his career. My job was videography and editing: capturing the interview, cutting it into a clean 27-minute episode, and pacing it so a niche golf-history story holds attention from start to finish.
The episode has pulled in 36K+ views on the Bogey2Putt channel, proof that good editing on a well-told story travels, even on a topic as specific as a 40-year-old putter.
