Back in November, my buddies canceled our round because of rain. Fair enough, normally, it’s not like it rains like that in LA very often. Except I was already in golf mode, already mentally checked out of my day, and now I had nowhere to put that energy. I’ll admit it: I was a little salty about it.

So instead of sulking on the couch, I did the only reasonable thing: I went out to my backyard setup and hit golf balls in the rain anyway. Here’s the short I posted of it, because honestly I still can’t believe I did it.

Here’s the thing that made this not insane: I’ve got a net set up back there (this one, if you’re curious, that’s an affiliate link, costs you nothing extra) and a Rapsodo MLM2Pro tracking every shot. Rain or not, the balls had somewhere to go and I could still see exactly what I was doing wrong. Without that setup, “salty guy hits balls in a thunderstorm” is just a bad decision instead of content.

My buddies never let me live that one down. We ended up rescheduling the round a few days later once everything dried out, and looking back, I still ended up hitting more balls that week than I would’ve on the course. Salty turned into content. I’ll take it.
